Version Pinning

Pin a version in the dashboard

Open the version selector next to the editor. A switch at the top of the menu chooses how you pin:

• Exact lists every version. Select the pin icon on a version row (Pin exactly v…) to keep that exact version as your default.
• Minor lists ranges such as 8.x (^8.0.0 in the API), which follows new minor and patch releases of 8.x. Select a range to pin it.
• Patch lists ranges such as 8.0.x (~8.0.0 in the API), which follows new patch releases of 8.0.x. Select a range to pin it.

Exact pinning is available on every plan; Minor and Patch are a Team and Business feature. Pinning switches the editor to the pinned version right away, and a pinned range always resolves to the highest available release that matches it, so you pick up new releases without changing the pin. Select the active pin again to remove it.

The dashboard pin applies only to your dashboard builds. API requests do not read it: they use the version parameter described below, unless your team enforces a version.

Pin a version through the API

Send the version as the version query parameter: an exact version, or a range written as ^8.0.0 (the menu's 8.x) or ~8.0.0 (the menu's 8.0.x), as in POST https://obfuscator.io/api/v1/obfuscate?version=^8.0.0.

Ranges (^ and ~) require a Team or Business plan; an exact version works on any plan with API access. Each response reports the concrete version that produced the output in its version field, so you can confirm which release a range resolved to. See the API Reference.
