Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms", "Terms of Service") carefully before using the Obfuscator.io service (collectively, the "Service") operated by Timofei Kachalov ("us", "we", or "our").

Your access to and use of the Service is conditioned on your acceptance of and compliance with these Terms. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service.

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the terms, then you may not access the Service.

Beta Service Notice

The Service is currently in Beta. This means:

  • The VM obfuscation feature and other functionalities are still under active development
  • We cannot guarantee that obfuscated code will work correctly with all input code or in all runtime environments
  • Features may change, be modified, or be removed without prior notice
  • You may encounter bugs, errors, or unexpected behavior

By using the Beta Service, you acknowledge and accept that:

  • Obfuscated code may not function as expected in certain cases
  • You are solely responsible for thoroughly testing all obfuscated code before using it in production
  • We are not liable for any damages, losses, or issues arising from the use of obfuscated code, including but not limited to application failures, data loss, or business interruption
  • You should maintain backups of your original source code at all times

We encourage you to report any issues or bugs you encounter to help us improve the Service.

1. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree NOT to use the Service:

  • To obfuscate, protect, or process any code that is malicious, harmful, or intended to damage, disable, or impair any computer system, network, or data
  • To obfuscate malware, viruses, trojans, ransomware, spyware, adware, or any other malicious software
  • To hide or protect code used for unauthorized access to computer systems or networks
  • To circumvent security measures of other software or systems
  • To violate any applicable laws, regulations, or third-party rights
  • To infringe upon intellectual property rights of others
  • For any purpose that is illegal or prohibited by these Terms

2. Permitted and Prohibited Use of the API

Permitted Use: You may use the Service and its API for:

  • Personal projects and internal business use
  • Obfuscating your own code or code you have the right to obfuscate
  • Integration into your CI/CD pipelines for your own projects
  • Any legitimate use where you are the end consumer of the obfuscation output

Prohibited Use: You are expressly prohibited from:

  • Building, operating, or offering any free or paid SaaS (Software as a Service), application, or online tool that provides obfuscation functionality to third parties using our Service
  • Reselling, redistributing, or white-labeling the Service as part of your own product offering
  • Creating a competing service that uses obfuscator.io as its backend
  • Providing obfuscation-as-a-service to your customers using our infrastructure

Enforcement: We reserve the right to block, rate-limit, or permanently ban any IP addresses, accounts, or services that we reasonably believe are violating these restrictions. Such blocking may occur without prior notice and at our sole discretion. No refunds will be provided for accounts terminated due to violation of this section.

3. User Responsibility

You are solely responsible for:

  • The code you submit to the Service
  • Ensuring you have the legal right to obfuscate the code you submit
  • Any consequences resulting from the use of obfuscated code
  • Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction

4. No Warranty for Code Protection

The Service is provided to make reverse engineering more difficult, but we make NO WARRANTY that:

  • Obfuscated code cannot be reverse engineered
  • Obfuscated code will function identically to the original code in all environments
  • The obfuscation will meet your specific security requirements

5. Intellectual Property

You retain all rights to your original code. We do not claim any ownership of the code you submit or the obfuscated output.

6. Trademarks

"JavaScript" is a trademark of Oracle Corporation in the United States and other countries. Any reference to "JavaScript" or "JS" within this Service is used solely to describe the JavaScript programming language and does not imply any affiliation with, endorsement by, or sponsorship from Oracle Corporation.

All other trademarks, service marks, and trade names referenced in the Service are the property of their respective owners.

7. Service Availability

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time without notice. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuance of the Service.

8. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall the Obfuscator.io team or its affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation:

  • Loss of profits, data, or other intangible losses
  • Damages resulting from your use or inability to use the Service
  • Damages resulting from unauthorized access to your data
  • Any other damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service

9. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Obfuscator.io team from any claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, or debt arising from:

  • Your use of the Service
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any third-party rights
  • Any code you submit to the Service

10. Account Suspension and Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including but not limited to:

  • Breach of these Terms
  • Suspected malicious, fraudulent, or abusive use of the Service
  • Suspected fraudulent payment activity
  • Request by law enforcement or government agencies
  • Unexpected technical or security issues
  • Any other reason at our sole discretion

Refunds Upon Termination: If we terminate your account and you have an active paid subscription, we will issue a prorated refund for the unused portion of your current billing period. In cases of fraudulent payment activity, we will issue a full refund and terminate access immediately.

11. Subscriptions, Cancellation, and Refunds

Subscription Plans: The Service offers various subscription plans with different features and usage limits. By subscribing to a paid plan, you agree to pay the applicable fees.

Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting us. Upon cancellation:

  • Your subscription will remain active until the end of the current billing period
  • You will not be charged for subsequent billing periods
  • Your account will be downgraded to the Free plan after the subscription ends

Refunds: If you are a Consumer, you have the right to cancel and receive a full refund within 14 days of your initial purchase. For full details, please see our Refund Policy.

Automatic Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Arab Emirates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

13. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will try to provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect.

By continuing to access or use our Service after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.

14. Data Collection and IP Logging

To protect the security and integrity of our Service, prevent fraud, and comply with legal requirements, we collect and store:

  • IP Addresses: We log your IP address when you sign up, log in, and use the Service. This information is retained for up to 12 months to detect and prevent fraudulent activity, investigate abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
  • User Agent Information: We may collect browser and device information to help identify suspicious activity.
  • Usage Data: We track usage metrics to enforce plan limits and improve the Service.

This data is processed based on our legitimate interest in fraud prevention and security (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)) and may be shared with law enforcement when legally required. You may request deletion of your personal data by contacting us, subject to our legal retention obligations.

The Service uses 55 open-source software packages and third-party libraries. We are grateful to the developers and maintainers of these projects.
